A very attractive 1942/1 D overdate Mercury dime graded VF 35 by PCGS. it holds superior detail for the grade with the perfect original patina that matches evenly among both sides. This variety is one of the most popular for the Mercury dime series and has been in strong demand among collectors. Even at all the shows we have attended, this variety coin has been very difficult to find in a decent mid-grade such as this one. This coin has a massive mintage of 60,740,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 3,000 of these have survived today being this overdate variety. It is one of just 187 graded Very Fine 35 by PCGS.
