A very attractive 1917 type one, standing liberty quarter graded MS 63 FH by PCGS. It carries a great strike throughout both sides with a fully defined head on the obverse. The reverse holds some colorful light toning most notably around the rims. The obverse also has some toning but is more of a crusty original look without the colorful toning such as on the reverse. Overall, a very appealing coin for the grade.
This date is among one of the most popular of the series as most collectors only purchase this series as a type coin and go with the 1917 due to the cost of the 1916. This date holds a high mintage of 8,740,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 9,000 have survived today that still exist with a full head such as this one. This coin is one of only 1,495 graded Mint State 63 Full Head by PCGS.
