A desirable 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded F 12 Details 'Rim Damaged' by ANACS. It carries great details for the grade looking more like a very fine in our recommendation. The 'Rim Damaged' notation we believe is a bit extreme by ANACS but please view the photos provided and judge for yourself. This coin has a strong full date, S mint-mark, and readable 'VDB' on the reverse. The 'VDB' is weaker but it is visible with the naked eye. This coin has been by far our best seller of all U.S coins lately and has been harder to hold in inventory in these 'affordable' grade levels.
The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example.
