1878 $3 Three Dollar Gold Piece PCGS AU 58 About Uncirculated CAC Approved OGH !

A stunning 1878 three dollar gold piece graded AU 58 by PCGS. The three dollar gold series has been in very strong demand lately among collectors and has been very difficult for us to carry in inventory. This is by far the nicest AU 58 graded example we have ever offered. We believe it is as nice as the mint state examples we are offered. It has been housed in an old time PCGS Green Label Holder and has been approved by CAC for quality. We believe it would earn a mint state grade level according to today's grading standards. This date holds a total mintage of only 82,304. However, of this low mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 25,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of 1,102 graded About Uncirculated 58 by PCGS. It is also one of only 89 approved by CAC in this grade level.
