An original 1872 key date Indian head cent graded MS 63 RB by PCGS. It carries a decent strike with a neat strike-through mint error throughout the obverse above the Indian's head. It holds a good deal of red most notably around the rims of each side. A tougher date to find that is seldom found certified with any type of mint error such as this one. This attractive example has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder.
This Philadelphia Mint date holds a huge mintage of 4,042,000. However, of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 700 have survived with red brown surfaces such as this one. This coin is one of only 154 graded Mint State 63 Red Brown by PCGS.
