1866 5C With Rays Shield Nickel PCGS MS 64 Uncirculated CAC Approved !

An absolutely gorgeous 1866 with rays, shield nickel graded MS 64 by PCGS. It carries an excellent strike throughout both sides with some neat die cracks throughout both sides. It carries very lustrous original surfaces with a light attractive patina that matches evenly throughout both sides. This gorgeous coin has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder and has been approved by CAC for quality. This date is very popular among Type Collectors as it is the first year of the shield nickel series. It holds a large mintage of 14,742,500. However, of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 40,000 have survived in all grades today. This attractive coin is one of only 540 graded Mint State 64 by PCGS. It is also one of only 76 approved by CAC in this grade level.
