Unlike many certified proof Indian Head Cents designated as red, we believe this one has really earned its red designation from PCGS. It holds beautiful surfaces throughout both sides with a very pleasing overall look. The smudges you see on the reverse are on the holder and are not on the coin. We believe this beautiful coin is more attractive than what is shown in the photos provided. This rare date holds a very low proof mintage of only 500 coins! It is one of only 16 graded Proof 64 Red by PCGS with only a total of eight coins graded finer in proof red condition!
