1857 Braided Hair Large Cent NGC MS 65 BN Uncirculated Small Date Exceptional Coin

An absolutely beautiful 1857 small date, braided hair large cent graded MS 65 BN by NGC. This coin is by far the nicest 1857 large cent we have ever offered. It holds mark free surfaces with a very appealing dark chocolate brown original patina. It has been housed in a newer style NGC prong holder. A desirable coin being minted during the last year of the series that is the slightly scarcer 'small date' style. This key date coin has a total mintage of 333,456. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 600 have survived in all grades. This appealing coni is one of only 13 graded Mint State 65 Brown with only two graded finer as brown designated coins by NGC!
