Being the first year of the liberty seated dollar series this coin is very tough to find in such nice condition as this one. This coin has the nicest strike we have seen on any 1840 liberty seated dollar. It has attractive original mint luster on both sides with very pleasing eye appeal. This coin does have graffiti on the obverse right and left fields. You can only see the graffiti very lightly if you turn the coin at certain angles. The graffiti scratched on the coin is tough to read since they have does some cursive scratching.
