A very interesting 1839 D classic head quarter eagle gold piece graded AG 3 by PCGS. This coin is one of the most interesting coins we have recently purchased. What makes this coin so interesting is that it is the first year of the Dahlonega gold pieces minted for the quarter eagle series. This coin is the lowest example graded by PCGS! This Dahlonega Mint coin holds a very low mintage of only 13,674. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that of this mintage only 200 have survived today! This coin is the only one graded AG 3 by PCGS with none graded lower! The perfect coin for the 'low ball' collector!
