An absolutely stunning 1852 braided hair large cent graded MS 63 Red by PCGS. This coin carries a by far exceptional strike throughout both side with attractive red surfaces. it does have some light original toning but also carries extremely reflective surfaces. This gorgeous coin is stored in a first generation "Rattler" holder and we believe it would grade at least one point higher today. Just an amazing coin to find stored in one of these old time holders.
This date is very common for the braided hair large cent series with a very high mintage of 5,064,094. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that this coin is one of only 200 that have survived today that are still red! This coin is one of only four graded Mint Sate 63 Red by PCGS!
