A very lustrous 1938 D Over S Mint-mark Buffalo head nickel graded MS 66 by PCGS. It carries a great strike throughout both sides with lustrous flashy original surfaces. We have provided a close-up image so you can clearly see the D/S variety on this coin. This date is among the most common to the series with a huge mintage of 7,020,000. However, of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 20,000 have survived that are this D/S variety. This coin is one of 2,055 graded Mint State 66 by PCGS.
