1924 S 5C Buffalo Head Nickel PCGS XF 40 Extra Fine CAC Approved Undergraded !
A tough 1924 S better date buffalo head nickel graded XF 40 by PCGS. It carreis a fantastic strike among both sides with perfect entirely original surfaces. We are not sure what happened on the day this coin was graded at PCGS as we would at least give this coin a five point higher grade. It has a nicer strike and better overall look than about uncirculated examples we have seen. It has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder and has been approved by CAC for quality.
This San Francisco Mint date holds a total mintage of 1,437,000. Of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 6,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 85 graded Extra Fine 40 by PCGS. It is also one of only seven approved by CAC for quality in this grade level.
