This coin holds some very crusty original toned surfaces throughout both the obverse and reverse. The toning style is accurately shown in the photos provided. This date is among one of the most popular of the series as most collectors only purchase this series as a type coin and go with the 1917 due to the cost of the 1916. This date holds a high mintage of 8,740,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 9,000 have survived today that still exist with a full head such as this one. This coin is one of only 1,248 graded Mint State 65 Full Head by PCGS.
