A very attractive 1916 D key date Mercury Dime graded VF 20 by ANACS. This key date coin has been one of our best sellers and in strong demand among collectors. It holds superior detail for the grade and we believe it would likely grade higher today. It has an attractive original tone throughout both sides that is slightly darker on the obverse. It has been housed in an old time 1980's small size ANACS holder. These have been extremely difficult to find in fine or higher grade levels such as this one. This date holds a low mintage of only 264,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimate that only 10,000 have survived in all grades today.
