1913 S 5C Type 2 Buffalo Head Nickel NGC VF 30 Very Fine to XF Type Two Key Date

A very attractive 1913 S type two, key date buffalo head nickel graded VF 30 by NGC. It holds a great strike throughout both sides with very attractive original toned surfaces. It looks like this coin could have easily graded five points higher. Please note, NGC has a label error on this particular coin as they listed it as a 1913 type two and failed to mention the 'S' mint-mark. This key date coin holds a mintage of only 1,209,000. Of this mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 14,000 have survived in all grades today! It is one of only 207 graded Very Fine 30 by NGC.
