An original 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln Wheat Cent graded VF 20 by NGC that has been approved by CAC for quality. This coin holds choice original surfaces and easily could have graded higher than the deemed grade from NGC. It has a very strong date, clear S Mint-mark and readable V.D.B on the reverse. This appealing coin has been housed in a newer style NGC prong holder. The 1909 S VDB has been by far our best seller and has continued to be in strong demand among collectors. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln Wheat Cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example. It is one of just '1,937' graded to be in Very Fine condition by NGC. It is also one of just 47 approved by CAC for quality in this grade.
