An absolutely gorgeous 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded MS 64 RD by NGC that has been approved by CAC for quality. This key date coin holds an exceptional quality strike with nice fully red appealing surfaces. It has been by far our best seller among all coin series that we sell. They have become harder and harder to come by during these last few years, especially in red condition. A beautiful coin that has a clear date, mint-mark, easily readable 'VDB' on the reverse. A very tough coin to find in this grade, especially having been approved by CAC for quality. The 1909 S VDB has a total mintage of 484,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 5,000 have survived today with red surfaces such as this one. It is one of only 280 graded Mint State 64 Red by NGC. It is also one of just 77 approved by CAC for quality in this grade.
