A 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded G 6 by NGC. It carries decent details throughout both sides for the grade with attractive original chocolate brown surfaces. This coin has a readable date, S mint-mark, and part of the VDB visible on the reverse. As you can see from the photos provided, due to this coin being a lower grade coin it is not easy to make out the 'vdb'. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000 and is known to be the true key to the entire Lincoln wheat cent series. However, the PCGS coin facts estimate that only 50,000 of these exist in all grade today. From the expert collector to the novice, most know of this very desirable and sought after key date coin.
