A very attractive 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded F 15 by NGC. It carries very strong details for the grade with an attractive chocolate brown patina. It has a very strong date, clear S Mint-mark and bold V.D.B on the reverse. We believe this coin could have easily gone very fine in our recommendation.
The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example. Of this number this coin is one of only 1,612 graded to be in 'Fine' condition by NGC.
