An original 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln Wheat Cent graded F 12 by NGC. This coin looks very nice for the grade and has a nice even patina among both sides. It has a very strong date, clear S Mint-mark and very bold V.D.B on the reverse. This appealing coin has been housed in a newer style NGC prong holder. The 1909 S VDB has been by far our best seller and has continued to be in strong demand among collectors. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln Wheat Cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example. It is one of just 489 graded to be in 'Fine' condition.
