A 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded XF 45 by PCGS. A very attractive coin for the grade that holds a very clear S Mint-mark, strong date, and easily readable 'VDB' on the reverse. It has very attractive chocolate brown surface as shown in the certified photos provided. This appealing example has been housed in an old green label PCGS holder and has been approved by CAC for quality. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example. This coin is one of only 1,225 graded Extra Fine 45 by PCGS. It is also one of only 57 approved by CAC in this grade.
