An attractive 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded VF 35 by PCGS. It carries decent details throughout both sides for the grade with attractive original chocolate brown surfaces. The scuff marks you see on the obverse are on the holder and are not on the coin. This coin has a very clear date, S mint-mark, and readable VDB on the reverse.
The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000 and is known to be the true key to the entire Lincoln wheat cent series. However, the PCGS coin facts estimate that only 50,000 of these exist in all grade today. From the expert collector to the novice, most know of this very desirable and sought after key date coin.
