1909 S VDB 1C Lincoln Wheat Cent PCGS MS 65 RB Uncirculated Red Brown Key Date Cert#4966
A gorgeous 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded MS 65 RB by PCGS. This attractive coin carries a strong strike with mostly red surfaces throughout both the obverse and reverse. It holds more red then some red designated examples we have seen. The line across 'In God We Trust' on the obverse we believe to be a mint made error. This coin has a very clear mint-mark and fully readable VDB. It has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder.
The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a very low mintage of only 484,000. The PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 have survived today with only 6,000 remaining with red brown surfaces such as this coin.
This coin is one of only 1,020 graded Mint State 65 Red Brown condition by PCGS.
