It is not very often that you find a red designated coin that is as fully red as this beauty! It is very high end for the grade with a strong bold date, S Mint-mark, and VDB on the reverse. This coin has been housed in a PCGS secure label holder.
The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000 and is known to be the true key to the entire Lincoln wheat cent series. From the expert collector to the novice, most know of this very desirable and sought after key date coin.
The PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist in all grades today! However, of these they estimate that only 5,000 are in red mint state condition such as this one today. This coin is one of only 1,017 graded Mint State 64 Red by PCGS.
