1909 S VDB 1C Lincoln Wheat Cent PCGS MS 64 RB Uncirculated CAC Approved
A beautiful 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded MS 64 RB by PCGS. This attractive coin carries a a very nice even mixture of red and brown surfaces throughout both sides. It holds a strong strike and is very mark free for the grade level deemed by PCGS. It has a very clear 'S' mint-mark and bold VDB on the reverse. The 'VDB' looks much more sharply defined than in the close-up photos provided. It has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder and has been approved by CAC for quality.
The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a very low mintage of only 484,000. The PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 have survived today with only 6,000 remaining with red brown surfaces such as this coin.
This coin is one of only 2,019 graded Mint State 64 Red Brown condition by PCGS. It is also one of only 258 approved by CAC for quality in this grade level.
