A beautiful 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln Wheat Cent graded MS 65 RB by NGC. This attractive coin carries a a very nice even mixture of red and brown surfaces throughout both sides. It holds an exceptional strike and is very mark free for the grade level deemed by NGC. It has been housed in a slightly older style NGC holder and has been approved by CAC for quality. This key date has been by far our best seller this last year and has continued to stay in very strong demand among collectors. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a very low mintage of only 484,000. The PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 have survived today with only 6,000 remaining with red brown surfaces like as this coin. This coin is one of 450 graded Mint State 65 Red Brown condition by NGC. It is also one of only 266 approved by CAC for quality in this grade level.
