A very attractive 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded AU 50 by PCGS. It carries very strong details for the grade with very attractive perfect chocolate brown original surfaces. It holds a very strong date, clear S Mint-mark and easily readable V.D.B on the reverse. This key date coin has been one of the toughest coins for us to keep in inventory lately as they have been in strong demand. It has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder and approved by CAC for quality. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example. Of this number this coin is one of only 578 graded About Uncirculated 50 by PCGS. It is also one of only 17 approved by CAC for quality in this grade level.
