A 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded VF 20 Details 'Scratched' by ANACS. It carries very strong details for the grade with very attractive chocolate brown surfaces. This coin looks nicer than the deemed grade from ANACS but does have the scratch behind Lincoln's head. It holds a very strong date, clear S Mint-mark and fully readable V.D.B on the reverse. This key date coin has been one of the toughest coins for us to keep in inventory lately as they have been in strong demand.
The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example.
