1909 S VDB 1c Lincoln Wheat Cent ANACS MS 62 RB Uncirculated Red Brown Tough !
A uniquely toned 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded MS 62 RB by ANACS. This key date coin carries a strong strike with some strong 'wood grain' style toning throughout both the obverse and reverse. Although ANACS has labeled this coin to be a mint-error coin with 'laminations' we believe it's actually just a toned coin. This coin has been harder to come by lately in this 'affordable' mint state grade with red brown surfaces such as this one. It has been housed in an old time 1980's Small Size ANACS holder. This key date has been by far our best seller this last year and has continued to stay in very strong demand among collectors. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a very low mintage of only 484,000. The PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 have survived today with only 6,000 remaining with red brown surfaces such as this coin.
