A very attractive 1909 S key date Indian head cent graded AU 55 BN by PCGS. It carries a strong strike throughout both sides with a fully struck liberty and all four diamonds showing on the ribbon of the obverse with three being complete. It does have a touch of streaky original toning throughout a small part of the reverse. A tough key date coin to find in this grade level that has been in strong demand among collectors.
This key date coin holds a very low mintage of only 309,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 3,000 have survived in all grades today. This coin is one of only 193 graded About Uncirculated 55 by PCGS.
