A 1901 S better date silver Morgan dollar graded AU 58 by NGC. It holds a good strike with mostly white surfaces. However, it does have a large splotch of toning as shown on the obverse close-up. A tougher San Francisco Mint date to find in this grade.
This date has been in very strong demand among collectors. It holds a total mintage of 2,284,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 228,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 298 graded About Uncirculated 58 by NGC.
