1896 S $1 Morgan Dollar NGC MS 62 Uncirculated Tough Date ! Looks Nicer !
A tough 1896 S better date silver Morgan dollar graded MS 62 by NGC. It holds an exceptional strike with mostly blast white surfaces. We believe this coin could have easily graded a point higher by NGC. However, we think that NGC may have net-graded this coin due to their being some what looks like glue residue on the obverse. We are not sure why the person who sent this coin in didn't remove it before sending this one in. This is one of the tougher dates to find of the series in mint state condition. This San Francisco Mint date holds a total mintage of 5,000,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 500,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 195 graded Mint State 62 by NGC.
