A very attractive 1891 CC silver Morgan dollar graded MS 63 by PCGS. It carries a great strike throughout both sides with very lustrous and attractive surfaces. This coin is clearly the VAM 3 also known as the 'Spitting Eagle Variety' as shown in the close-up photos provided. A neat variety for this particular Carson City Mint Coin. PCGS has not designated this one but it is definitely this variety. It holds a very light touch of toning among both sides and has been approved by CAC for quality.
This Carson City Mint date holds a mintage of 1,618,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 162,000 have survived in all grades. They also estimate that only 80,000 have survived to be in MS 60 or better condition such as this one. This coin is one of only 6,058 graded Mint State 63 by PCGS. it is also one of only 266 approved by CAC in this grade level.
