An absolutely beautiful 1884 key date three cent nickel piece graded PF 66 by NGC. This date is one of the toughest of the entire three cent nickel series. It is very hard to come by as a business strike and extremely expensive compared to this 'affordable' example. This is one of the finest of this date we have ever offered. It holds a light hue of attractive blue toning throughout both sides. This date holds a low proof mintage of only 3,942. The PCGS Coin Facts estimates that of this mintage 3,250 have survived in all grades today. it is one of only 236 graded PF 66 by NGC.
