A beautiful 1881 S better date double eagle gold piece graded MS-61 by PCGS. This San Francisco Mint date carries very attractive flashy surfaces for only an MS-61 grade from PCGS. It looks as nice as many MS-62 examples we have seen but PCGS decided to be conservative on this one. It is graded right below the level where it has a significant price jump in MS-62. This appealing example has been approved by CAC for quality.
