With a low mintage of only 68,800 this 1881 key date shield nickel is tough to find in any condition. This coin is especially hard to come by in extra fine or better condition such as this coin. It has a great strike on both sides with a dark original tone on. There is some hints of luster under the devices. Just a superior quality coin for the grade.
