A beautiful 1880 proof three cent nickel graded PR 64 by PCGS. It carries an exceptional proof quality strike with some beautiful purple toning most notably throughout the obverse. This beautiful coin has been housed in a PCGS 'Rattler' Holder.
This proof issue date holds a tiny mintage of only 3,955. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 3,250 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 331 graded Proof 64 by PCGS. It is also one of only 15 approved by CAC in this grade level.
