An 1879 key date shield nickel graded PF 64 by NGC. It holds very mark free surfaces for the grade with a light cameo throughout both the obverse and reverse. This proof issue date is always in strong demand as it is a much more affordable coin to purchase than a business strike in this grade level. A very appealing example that has earned it's grade from NGC.
This proof issue coin holds a tiny mintage of only 3,200. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 900 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 165 graded Proof 64 by NGC.
