1879 S Reverse of 1878 Morgan Dollar PCGS AU 55 About Uncirculated OGH Undergraded

A beautiful 1879 S Reverse of 1878, silver Morgan dollar graded AU 55 by PCGS. This coin carries a fantastic strike with absolutely beautiful lustrous and original surfaces. It is an extremely attractive coin for the grade which we believe would earn a gold sticker if it were sent into CAC. It looks much nicer than most AU 58 graded examples on the market. It has been housed in an old time PCGS green label holder. This San Francisco Mint date holds a huge mintage of 9,110,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that of this massive mintage only 8,900 of these have survived that are the 1879 S Reverse of 1878 style. It is one of only 273 coins graded About Uncirculated 55 by PCGS.
