1878 G$1 Princess Head Gold Dollar PCGS MS 61 Uncirculated Looks Proof Like PL !

A very attractive 1878 better date princess head gold dollar graded MS 61 by PCGS. It holds a fantastic strike with proof-like surfaces when this one is being tilted in the light. This one came out of an uncirculated proof like designated holder but PCGS removed the PL designation this time. A fantastic coin for the grade that should have earned the PL designation in our recommendation. It has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder. This date holds a tiny mintage of only 3,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 285 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 18 graded Mint State 61 by PCGS.
