An 1878 proof only issue, key date shield nickel graded PF 50 Details "Plugged & Whizzed" by ANACS. This key date coin is very problematic but it is tough to find in this more 'affordable' price range unlike most others we have seen on the market. We figured it would be a good 'filler' coin for a collector that is just looking to complete a collection and needed to save some money.
This key date coin holds a low mintage of only 2,350. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Fact estimates that only 1,900 have survived in all grades today.
