It holds a decent strike throughout both sides with attractive chocolate brown original surfaces. A tougher key date to find in this Very Fine to Extra Fine grade level. We believe it could have easily graded a touch higher. This key date coin has been in strong demand lately. The 1877 key date Indian head cent carries a mintage of 852,500. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 5,000 of these have survived in all grade! At the time of this listing, This coin is one of only 553 graded to be in Very Fine condition by NGC.
