1877 1C Indian Head Cent PCGS VF 20 Very Fine Key Date Looks Better ! Tough Grade

A very attractive 1877 key date Indian head cent graded VF 20 by PCGS. Every letter of liberty on the obverse is readable except the 'B'. This coin is by far the nicest VF 20 1877 Indian head cent we have ever offered. It looks much nicer than many examples we have seen graded higher than this one. It holds perfect chocolate brown original surfaces and has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder. This key date coin has been in very strong demand lately among collectors. They have been extremely difficult to find lately in these mid-grade levels such as this one. The 1877 key date Indian head cent carries a mintage of 852,500. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 5,000 of these have survived in all grade! It is one of only 182 graded Very Fine 20 by PCGS.
