The nicest 1871 key date shield nickel we have owned in all of our years of business. This coin has a mintage of only 561,000 and is much harder to come by than this indicates. It has a very nice strike on both sides with attractive original mint luster. At the time of this listing creation this coin only had a known population of only 12 certified coins in this condition! An exceptionally hard coin to come by in such a high grade.
