A tough 1870 S key date seated liberty dime graded XF 40 by PCGS. It carries a very sharp liberty on the obverse with some colorful toning around all of the obverse rims and part of the rims of the reverse. A very tough San Francisco Mint date to find for the seated liberty dime series that is seldom offered in this condition. It has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder.
This San Francisco Mint date holds a total mintage of only 50,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 400 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only seven graded Extra fine 40 by PCGS.
