A tough 1863 proof seated liberty quarter graded PF 61 by NGC. It holds an excellent proof quality strike with very heavily toned original surfaces. This proof issue date is seldom offered in an 'affordable' grade such as this one. It has been housed in a slightly older style NGC holder.
This New Orleans Mint coin has a total mintage of only 460. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 400 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only ten graded Proof 61 by NGC.
