A very attractive 1863 Civil War Date, seated liberty half dime graded PR 64 by PCGS. This coin carries a weaker strike on the reverse indicating that it may be a business strike. However, the flashiness of the surfaces imply that it is a proof strike coin. Either way, a tough key date to the series that has been housed in an old time PCGS Green Label holder. This attractive original toned coin has also been approved by CAC for quality.
This date is a key to the series and holds a low proof mintage of only 460. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 400 have survived in all grades today. This coin is one of only 71 graded Proof 64 by PCGS. It is also one of only 8 approved by CAC in this grade level.
