1863 1C Indian Head Cent PCGS MS 63 Uncirculated Copper Nickel Cert#4302

An original 1863 Civil War Era, copper-nickel Indian Head Cent graded MS 63 by PCGS. It carries a decent overall strike with nice crusty original surfaces. It does look like this coin may be a variety as the N and T in 'United' are very weakly struck but the remainder of the coin is struck strongly. This Philadelphia Mint date holds a mintage of 49,840,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 10,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 1,106 graded Mint State 63 by PCGS.
