A very attractive 1862 Civil War Date, seated liberty half dime graded MS 65 by PCGS. This coin carries some very attractive colorful toning when tilted in the light as indicated by the PCGS photo provided. When looking head onto the coin, it appears to have a more dull original tone as shown in the close-up photos we have provided.
This date is fairly common to the series with a large mintage of 1,492,000. However, of this huge mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only a tiny fraction of this number (3,000) have survived in all grades today. This beautiful example is one of only 88 graded Mint State 65 by PCGS.
